Welcome to Sengi Cacao

Our story began in 2009 with a handful of Trinitario cacao seeds, planted in our garden on the shores of lake Malawi after arriving by boat and being gifted to us by a passing tourist.

This simple act sparked an expansion of already existing passions that has grown into a global endeavor to improve cacao farming practices through training and agroforestry services.

Over the years, we’ve expanded our sustainable strategies to nine countries (and counting) across tropical parts of Africa, and we now operate state-of-the-art experimental farming and processing facilities in Malawi and South Africa respectively in support of this.

We’re involved in every step – from nurturing selections of exceptional cacao in our nurseries to supply to farmers in sustainable cultivation practices, to making delicious chocolate.
